As part of its commitment to the environment and sustainability, World Medicine once again participated in the 43rd Istanbul Virtual Marathon, with employees running to support the TEMA Foundation’s “Tree Brotherhood” project.
“Tree Brotherhood” is a nature education and afforestation project for children. For five years, the TEMA Foundation has been organizing charity runs during marathons to help more children get acquainted with the soil and trees, raising funds for the project. These efforts have created memorial forests in the children’s names, with thousands of saplings planted in the Tree Brotherhood Memorial Forests in Balıkesir, Çanakkale, and Edirne.
To support a more conscious generation and a greener future, World Medicine participated in the 43rd Istanbul Marathon, which was held virtually on October 30-31 for the second consecutive year due to pandemic conditions. By running for a good cause, 389 runners from various fields and 4,379 donors raised a total of 421,152 TL for the TEMA Foundation's “Tree Brotherhood” project this year. This provided 2,808 children with the chance to receive nature education. With the support of World Medicine, a total of 5,616 saplings were planted in the Hayrettin Karaca Tree Brotherhood Forest.
