Pharmaceutical Export Champion World Medicine Announces Investment in Uzbekistan

World Medicine to invest USD 30 million in a new pharmaceutical manufacturing facility

Türkiye’s pharmaceutical export champion, World Medicine, has decided to establish a production plant in Uzbekistan with a planned investment of USD 30 million. The facility is targeted to become operational by the end of 2027. World Medicine Chairman of the Board Ruşen Kalender stated, “With the factory we are building in Uzbekistan, we aim both to meet the region’s pharmaceutical needs and to deliver high-quality, accessible medicines to neighboring markets.”

Exporting medicines manufactured in Türkiye to global markets, World Medicine is extending its investments beyond borders. The company is preparing to build a new site within Tashkent Pharma Park, a modern industrial zone in Tashkent, strengthening its footprint across Asia with this strategic move.

A gateway to the Asian market

Sharing details of the project, Kalender noted that the plant will be of significant scale and equipped with state-of-the-art technologies: “This investment will open the doors of the Asian market for us. We have been active in Uzbekistan for years and hold a leading position among foreign companies. We know the Uzbek people prefer our quality and reliable products, and we want to carry this trust one step further by making meaningful contributions to the healthcare ecosystem.”

Kalender added, “We believe that, starting from the construction phase, this pharmaceutical manufacturing facility will strengthen the economic ties between Uzbekistan and Türkiye.” He also shared that, in the next phase, the company plans to establish a high-tech research and development laboratory to further advance innovation in the region.
