The ‘Awards for Export Stars’, organized by the Istanbul Chemicals and Chemical Products Exporters Association, were awarded with World Medicine winning second prize in the field of pharmaceutical exports in 2019. World Medicine won first place in the field of pharmaceutical exports. Sohrab Mammadov, the Vice Board Chairman of World Medicine, said “While we had already exported to 26 countries in 2017, we exported to 35 countries in 2019. We aim to make Turkey the main production hub with Turkey leading in pharmaceutical exports.”
The ‘Awards for Export stars’ were held by the Istanbul Chemicals and Chemical Products Exporters Association (İKMİB) for the fifth time this year to recognize the export success of member companies in the chemicals industry and encourage further success. World Medicine was awarded second prize in the field of pharmaceuticals exports in the İKMİB Prizes for Export Stars 2019.
After the award ceremony, which was carried out online in line with the pandemic measures, Adil Pelister, the Chairman of the Board of the İKMİB, paid a special visit to Sohrab Mammadov, the Vice Chairman of World Medicine, to personally deliver the prize.
“We are exporting to 35 countries”
Expressing the Company’s delight to notch up yet another success in pharmaceutical exports, Sohrab Mammadov, the Vice Chairman of World Medicine, explained, “We at World Medicine have been active since 2011. In addition to our activities in Turkey, we were exporting to 26 countries in 2017 and since increased the number of countries we export to 35 in 2019. With our exports to 35 countries, we aim to expand rapidly in the world market. Our aim is to be one of the 15 biggest manufacturers of generic pharmaceuticals.” Underlining the Company’s target to be one of the pharmaceutical companies which first to come people’s minds and reflecting on the rapid growth of the Turkish market, Sohrab Mammadov said, “We at World Medicine were ranked 332nd among all companies offering services in different sectors in Turkey, rising 60 places compared to the previous year, in 2019 study of Turkey’s Largest 1,000 Exporters which is published every year by the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TİM).”
