World Medicine’s $37.5 Million Investment: Çerkezköy-2 Plant Now Operational
World Medicine, Turkey’s leading pharmaceutical exporter, continues to pursue its vision of offering accessible and effective products worldwide. The company recently commissioned its Çerkezköy-2 facility—originally launched a few years ago—further accelerating its production momentum.
Having inaugurated Çerkezköy-1, one of Turkey and Eastern Europe’s largest pharmaceutical production facilities, in 2021, World Medicine followed up with a $37.5 million investment in 2022 to establish an additional production site. The new Çerkezköy-2 facility spans a total indoor area of 23,000 m², housing a high-capacity warehouse with space for 24,000 pallets and an additional 2,850 m² of production space.
“Our ongoing investments are enabling us to grow steadily both in Turkey and on the global stage,” said Sohrab Mammadov, Vice Chairman of the Board at World Medicine. He emphasized the added production strength that comes with the new plant: “With the goal of exporting pharmaceuticals manufactured in Turkey to the world, we now export to over 50 countries across various continents. To meet current and projected market demand, we continue expanding our production capacity. Our ultimate aim is to become the most recognized and impactful pharmaceutical brand in exports, contributing significantly to the Turkish economy.”
Mammadov also noted that the plant currently manufactures soft-gel capsules using state-of-the-art technology, operating two production lines capable of producing 500 million capsules and approximately 50 million boxes annually. He added that ongoing investments in equipment for additional product formats are fueling further internal growth, and the next goal is to expand World Medicine’s production volume both domestically and internationally through new investments.
